Life Change Ballroom offers several mentoring programs to students of all ages (K-12) throughout the Oklahoma City metroplex. Whether it’s during school or after school, our programs are designed to help our students thrive!
Our in-school program sends a male and female dance instructor into the classroom twice a week to work with up to 40 students per class. The students begin working together as a team to make it to the “finals” to compete in our end-of-year competition event, where 96 students from the top 8 schools compete for the title of Life Change Ballroom Dance Champions.
Life Change Ballroom proudly serves the Oklahoma City, Putnam City, Millwood, and Cashion school districts, as well as several other charter and vocational schools in the area. Each semester offers students 24 classes where they will learn five steps for five different ballroom dances. We teach the cha-cha, foxtrot, merengue, waltz, tango, swing, rumba, and salsa. Schools that participate in the two-semester program will learn more steps to the dances they have previously mastered as well as 3 brand new ballroom dances.
Our Youth Empowerment and Leadership Program (Y.E.L.P) started after meeting so many incredible students who want to continue dancing and performing through our in-school program. We spend each Saturday at Britton Christian Church with our Y.E.L.P students expanding their ballroom dancing skills, as well as inviting speakers, taking them out dancing once a month, to the movies, plays, and restaurants.
