We’re changing lives one classroom at a time!
Our in-school program consists of leadership training disguised as ballroom dance lessons. Over the course of 12 weeks, students think they are practicing the cha-cha, but they’re also learning social, coping, communication and life skills that are critical to their success. These skills provide the building blocks to form well-rounded students within our community. We teach 2nd grade – high school, but we are predominantly a 4th grade program.
STUDENTS WILL LEARN
Students learn different steps for each dance, including basic footwork, box steps, promenade, ad-lib, and more.
Proper footwork, lead and follow, musical timing, floor crafting, and styling.
Escort position, how to ask and accept the invitation to dance, and more.
Goal-setting, teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and self-esteem.
Mutual respect, trust, and social awareness are just some of the social skill sets students will learn in our classes.
SCHOOLS NEED TO PROVIDE:
Our program is proven to be a viable one for kindergarteners all the way to seniors. We have no supply requirements; we simply need adequate dance space. That can be a gym, cafeteria, auditorium, or even an empty classroom. We also require at least one classroom teacher (or school administrator) to be present during the program sessions at all times.
Our students will need adequate dance space for our program. Whether it’s the gym, cafeteria, auditorium, or even an empty classroom, we’ll need plenty of room to stretch and salsa!
There must be at least one classroom teacher or school administrator present at all times during our program sessions.
Passion for working with kids of all ages is a must!
A positive attitude is vital to the success of our program—so come prepared!
